Formed in 1986 in Tucson, Arizona, Broken Horse experimented with combining Psyche/Death Rock with retro Jazz/Country Western/Noir. A trio comprised of Alex Oropeza (guitar/vocals), "Yuma Joe" Byrnes (drums), and Bill Cuevas (bass), Broken Horse was a fixture at Tucson’s Club Congress and music underground before relocating to San Francisco Mission District in 1992.
